It is with great pleasure that I extend my warmest greetings to all esteemed participants joining us for the 5th International Congress of Transfusion Medicine, which will take place in Tehran, Iran from May 14-15, 2024. Our organization has been dedicated to advancing the field of Transfusion Medicine for many years, and we are honored to continue this tradition by hosting the Iran 5th International Congress.
This year, we are excited to welcome speakers and participants from 15 countries, believing that these gatherings will provide a platform for experts, researchers, and professionals to share knowledge, exchange ideas, and foster collaborations in all aspects of Transfusion Medicine. Our scientific team has put in considerable effort to create a stimulating and comprehensive program.
Iran, often known as the “Land of Four Seasons,” boasts a wealth of natural and historical marvels. The captivating beauty of the Persian Gulf, the enchanting city of Shiraz, and the cultural richness of Isfahan provide opportunities for historical exploration and adventure. I encourage all international participants to explore these attractions and experience the unique charm of our nation.
With your valuable contributions, the congress will serve as a great platform for us to share ideas, best practices, and address challenges, while learning from one another. I eagerly look forward to welcoming each of you to Tehran.

Please use the following sample to write the Abstract.
Abstract Guideline for the IBTC5
- Please be informed that the abstract submission for the 5th Iran International congress of Transfusion Medicine 2024 is free of charge.
- Abstracts must contain original information.
- The first author is responsible for ensuring that all authors have read the abstract and agreed to be co-authors.
- The first author is responsible for ensuring all authors names in the abstract. After acceptance of the articles (as poster or lecture) any change will NOT be accepted in the authors names or text body of the abstract.
- The Scientific Committee retains the right to reject abstracts containing previously submitted or abstract without acceptable criteria.
- In clinical studies, please state in the methods section whether the study was approved by a recognized medical ethics committee and write the article’s ethic committee code.
- Similarly, do not submit a copy or close copy of an abstract under more than 1 topic. Abstracts that appear to be submitted multiple times under different topics will be rejected.
- Abstracts should be submitted just in clear English to allow the reviewers to focus on the scientific content of the abstract. Please avoid submitting the abstract in non- English languages.
- The maximum word count allowed is 350 words. The minimum word count should be 150 words.
- The abstract should be structured into the following mandatory sections:
Background
Methods
Results
Conclusions
Keywords: please choose 3-5 keywords according to MeSH
- A Word file should contain the title of the abstract, family and first names of the authors, their affiliations, Background, methods, results, conclusions and key words that should be uploaded during the submission. Please use Word template for preparing your abstract.
- Abbreviations and Trademarks should not be used in the title. Abbreviations in the article text should be defined.
- The submission of an abstract constitutes a formal/mural commitment by the submitting author to present the abstract (if accepted) in the session and the time assigned by the Scientific Committee.
- Abstract review, selection and publication
A panel of experts will review the abstracts. Each abstract will be reviewed by at least two different experts. Abstracts may be selected for oral presentation or poster presentation by the congress scientific committee.
- The author who submits the abstract will be informed about the decision of scientific committee (acceptance for oral/ poster presentation or a notice of rejection) by 29. April.2024 via e-mail.
- The author who submits the abstract selected for oral presentation will be informed about the type and date of the session, and presentation guidelines will be provided.
- Poster presenters will be informed about the date of the poster exhibition and will receive guidelines for preparation of their posters.

The 5th Iran International Congress of Transfusion Medicine will be held in Tehran with the aim of:
- Improving the knowledge of blood transfusion medicine among the staff, managers and practitioners of the blood transfusion.
- Presenting the results of the research projects of the faculty members and theses of graduate students.
- Exchange of opinions of professors, creating an environment for the translation of knowledge.
- To establish more communication and cooperation with the countries of the region.
